马须仁(梁朝伟)是一个为上市公司策划重组合并的专业人士，年轻有为，家财万贯。但因为他为人刻薄吝啬，跟随他多年的女秘书也给吓跑了。女友将他的信用卡及银行支票全部挂失令他无法使用，刚巧碰上几天假期，无法调动银行里的钱，马须仁突然之间变成了身无分文的“穷人”。<br />
一次，马须仁邂逅亚彩(舒淇)，更在亚彩面前大出洋相。亚彩以为他假装扮成有钱人，遂劝马须仁应当脚踏实地做人，并渐对其产生好感。马须仁也对亚彩情有独钟，便令其下属汤姆(林家楝)一同假装穷人，期间汤姆与亚彩的好朋友(麦家琪)也互相吸引，打得火热，两个男人各得其所。<br />
