米古尔·麦斯执导的《忌讳》是1999年《葛洛莉》之后又一部入围柏林电影节的葡萄牙电影，这部影片的片名却一不小心撞车了，与德国著名默片导演茂瑙的作品起了同一个名字。这部影片的前半部分是黑白电影，包含了深深的思乡之情；后半部分则有了色彩，传递了剧中角色渴望的那些东西：歌舞，嬉闹和欢笑。
